Baggage Delivery Systems
Baggage Delivery Solution (BDS) has evolved from 7 years continuous development in a live environment and can be customised to meet your exact requirements.
The back-end is based on Microsoft SQL server.
The front-end is web based, so that your users can retrieve & update information remotely.
The BDS extractor runs in a separate process and in testing handles over 1000 incoming delivery messages per minute. Messages are received from your customer using the Baggage Delivery Order (BDO) and can be sent to you either via telex or email.
The barcode scanning software uses a bespoke web interface – no need for complex network configurations – just a wireless & Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth is used to communicate with the label printer. The whole barcode scanning system is portable and can be used either in the Airport terminals, delivery vehicle or at your warehouse.
If you subscribe to SITA’s BDS module of World Tracer then each stage of delivery is sent back into the airlines tracing file. This in turn is viewable on the airlines website and will reduce the incoming enquiries from passengers. Receipt of luggage, expected time of delivery (ETA) & signature of recipient (POD). Failed deliveries are also recorded.
Invoices and driver pay can either be handled on the system or exported into your own financial package.
